Hello and welcome! How’re you doing today? My name is John W. Vermaes, I am located in Tucson, AZ, and I am the individual behind designsinflux. I guess this is where I get the chance to tell you a little about myself, yeah? To be perfectly honest, I don’t favor talking about myself, but here goes …
I’ve been on-line and designing websites since about 1995. Like a lot of website designers and developers, I started out building websites utilizing services such as GeoCities, Tripod, and CompuServe. Ah, the memories. Good times. Simpler times.
Despite my insatiable interest in the area of website design and development, I never really went after it as a profession. Why? There are two answers to that, really. 1) The timing was never quite right for me; 2) I never really thought I was good enough to actually get paid for it.
It took me 13 years — gasp! — to finally decide that it was time to venture out there and make my mark. As such, in November of 2009, I jumped in head first and started putting all of the pieces that would eventually form designsinflux together. Even then, it took an additional 8 months (and 3 complete website theme revisions) to get everything where I needed it to be before I unleashed myself onto the world.
Anyhow, that’s the short version of my story. If you’d like to get in touch with me, please feel free to look me up either on Facebook or Twitter.
